Sharpening stone Medium

The 302 fine ceramic whetstone Spyderco, 302F is a top-of-the-range ceramic and aluminum oxide (synthetic sapphire) whetstone for sharpening knives and tools. The advantage of aluminum oxide is that it requires no water or oil, and its hardness makes it exceptionally long-lasting. A material that can sharpen the hardest steels!

This stone is very fine, making it ideal for sharpening or maintaining still-sharp knives. If you need to sharpen dull knives, we recommend you start with the Spyderco medium whetstone. We also have a sharpening stone Spyderco ultra fine, for polishing your blade.

On the Mohs scale, this stone has a hardness of 9.2. By comparison, diamond has a hardness of 10.

These stones can be easily cleaned in a dishwasher or autoclave, or by hand with a little abrasive or a Lansky eraser block.

The whetstone is supplied in a plastic storage box. This also serves as a stone holder.

The grain size of Spyderco ceramic whetstones is measured in microns. However, the USA and Japon each have their own system of measurement. Japon uses the JIS R 6001 method, while the USA uses the ANSI method.
