Korfbal, derived from basketballball, originated at Pays-Bas. It's a mixed sport that requires parity between men and women on the pitch. The 2 teams of 8 players are made up of 4 defenders and 4 forwards, with 2 men and 2 women in each group. The korfbal goals consist of two baskets (korf) placed in the middle of each half of the pitch. Korfbal is primarily a passing game, with no walking or dribbling allowed. It's also a non-contact sport in which men defend men and women defend women.
